It was dark by the time we started to walk around the world showcase for dinner as well as it was surprisingly crowded. The post-race celebration didn’t officially begin up until 9pm-ish, before that there were general admission park visitors as well as race celebration attendees. So, just BYOC if you don’t like pork rinds (BYOC = bring your own chips). I don’t understand if it’s a Mexican thing or what however my household had chiccarones (pork rinds) all the time when I was a youngster as well as I keep in mind them being tasteless as well as hard. These were smaller as well as more flavorful, however I can’t get the memory out of my head.

WINE & DINE half MARATHON weekend – WHAT I ATE

Traveling to Orlando for the race… I got Panera during the short layover. They were ‘sold out’ of all salads as well as most of the soups so I went with my 5th choice. I was a lil dissatisfied since I was craving their poultry as well as Apple Salad as well as a whole grain baguette, however I’m likewise not going to kick a carb out of bed.

Traveling to Orlando… my travel friend got Pinkberry with Nutella as well as I stole some bites. I didn’t understand Nutella was a toppings option?! have you had this?

We got into Orlando quite late regional time as well as I was wide awake as well as hungry. We stopped at Wawa for food since it was open as well as there weren’t a great deal of options. I likewise got a piece of cornbread as well as tons of snacks as well as drinks to have in the space over the weekend. No pics of the snacks as well as drinks – it was mainly junk.

Breakfast Day 1 – the hotel had a extremely impressive breakfast buffet that was included in the stay. I expected a loaf of bread as well as damaged toaster, however was pleasantly surprised with the spread. They had Mickey waffles, eggs, sausage, muffins, bagels, cereal, milk, yogurt, fruit, coffee as well as tea.

I likewise identified a lil table with salsa, cheese as well as spinach… I figured it was for the eggs as well as added it to my plate. It was quite hectic when I was getting breakfast so it was funny to see this area without anyone near it. more for me!

After the expo we went to Panera so I might lastly get my poultry as well as Apple Salad craving satisfied. It was just like I remembered. as well as the tomato soup was soooooo good!

At some point I got Moe’s Mexican Food (it’s not a chain in SoCal, so I don’t keep in mind the full name). They gave us A great deal of chips – wait, I mean A great deal of damaged chips. But, I like the damaged ones so I was awesome with it.

After the race you get a box of food, a banana, water as well as a sports drink. This is extremely well organized as well as a great deal much better than being handed a lot of random things right after you completed a race. I have huge hands however can’t hold a banana, granola bar as well as a water bottle plus take a post-race selfie. And I was FREEZING so it was difficult for me to hold anything in the very first place.

Anyway. Here’s what was in the post-race food box: huge goldfish grahams (loved), nuts, chips, cheese, hand wipe + a banana, water as well as powerade.

The race started SO early it was a extremely rough 3am wake-up call. however the great thing about the early begin time is I was completed as well as back at the hotel with plenty of time to hit up the breakfast buffet. Boom.

I had to have Mickey mouse waffles to celebrate Run Disney races being back! I’ve missed so many people, events as well as things over the past year – as well as I’m super grateful that I was able to run this race as well as see friendly faces running again. God bless.

Note: This wasn’t whatever I ate during race weekend. There’s always tons of snacks in RER-land. I’m just surprised I didn’t snapg a photo of what I ate before the race. Rookie mistake!
